| Noah LOVES to ride the bus! |

| First Day of School |
School started this Monday and this happened. Yes, we are getting the pros and cons of both homeschooling and public school. I never thought we would do both in the same year, but this is what is best for us now, so here we are, very thankful for all the educational options available to us!
Some of us wanted 1 (2,3,4!) more weeks of summer but Noah started at Newton (Yes, I got teary when he got on the bus; he did not!) so the rest of us started too. Noah was quite ready for school to start. He is loving it, just as he knew he would. The bus drive, his teacher, his classmates and friends on the bus. Hopping on the bus in the morning, jumping off from the bottom step when he gets home. Tiger legs happened just in time!
Noah grew 8 inches between January and tiger legs mid-July. Some of that growth is his prosthetic legs. He keeps saying that he has grown taller. Well we just measured him again and sure enough he grew another 1 1/2 inches in the last month and a half! Life with protein, life without parasites, life with family, something is agreeing with him!
Farewell cast! Alexa endured with patience. She delighted in the art set sympathy gift from A. Colleen! And never complained during the 3 swimming days she had to stay out of the water. (This was our first broken bone; we didn't know we could request a waterproof cast. Bummer!) Alexa is hoping to get another chance to swim next week!
Alexa is planning her next broken bone. She wants it to be from a fall on a steep hill. Her philosopy: the pain will be the same, so might as well make it worth it.
Much to celebrate, much to be thankful for! And so our 1st week of school ended with 3 of 4 children going to bed early; exhaustion manifesting itself through bickering and quarreling. Again. (4th child, sick and napping on the couch, thus missed out on it this time.) Prayers and blessings for all of you who are schooling again, whatever it looks like in your families!
